I have very little information. My family may *possibly* have been from Cork but we're not certain.

Bridget Flynn was booked for a ticket to America. Bridget had been sick and the family was afraid she would be deported upon arrival. Her sister (my great grandmother) took her place without having the name on the ticket changed. My great grandmother was Anastasia Flynn who immegrated to Jersey City, New Jersey, USA.

From Anna's marriage certificate I found that her parents names were Joannis Flynn and Annae Sullivan.

Anna was born approximately 1877.

According to US Census records, she arrived between 1890 and 1901.

Has to have been prior to 1900 as she was married in Jersey City, New Jersey on 17 October 1900.

Any information would be greately appreciated.

Kindest regards,

Valerie

I don't know what sites you have searched. Can I recommend that you try www.ellisisland.org  and see if you can find your Bridget Flynn and where she was from. Other sites are www.familysearch.org for civil birth index records and www.nationalarchives.ie for the 1901 and 1911 census records.
