Searching for my great great grandpa Robert McKee, he emmigrated to Canada then eventually to New York State with his brothers George and William He was born in 1789. Doesn't sound like an Irish name, but that's what my grandma said. Might be McGee or McGhee too. Thanks for any help you can give.

I went to www.rootsireland.ie and did a search for Robert mcKee. I found three records for that timeframe. You will need to pay to view these records but it isn't too expensive about €5 per view or cheaper if you buy in bulk. This is a not for profit site so you don't have to pay membership fees. The other website which covers some of the counties is www.irishgenealogy.ie. It's worth looking at that one also.
