My earliest known ancestor was James Noble, born Cavan (I do not know what parish), born 1805, according to his gravestone. Wife Mary Harmon, born 1815-16, Ireland. Emigrated to Canada sometine between 1825-1850. Oldest son David born that year in Ontario, Canada.  I have good records of them in Canada but I can find nothing whatsoever on them in Ireland and have searched everywhere I can think of.

  • James, I see Elwyn has covered a lot of your query, I looked at the Tithe Applottments and there are a number of Noble's in Cavan and Killeshandra too, the name Harman is sometimes Harmon, i live in Louth and it is found around here. You can view the Tithes here http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp

I have ancestros myself from Cavan and have joined two Facebook pages on Cavan Genealogy, one of that name and the other IGP's Cavan Genealogy on which I see a lady looking for Noble in Cavan and another poster mentions Noble in Killeshandra, often it is people like your self (me too) trying to break down a wall and not fully sure of what it is they are finding, if you have not tried this method all I can say is they are well moderated and always very polite.

I searched Noble Baptisms in Cavan on Roots Ireland and got 5, I did not look at them but here they are, to give you names in the off chance they are siblings and you see common names, but without parents names you can never be sure.
