Seeking information regarding where Alexander Hamilton and Anne Murray originated from in Ireland. Alexander Hamilton came to Canada (Toronto area) on or before 1850 as a young lad.  Alexander allegedly came from Dublin.  Alexander married Anne Murray.  Anne came to Canada via New York on or about 1850 together with her sister.   Prior to 1850, nothing is know about the parents of either Alexander or Anne.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hello John, I have been asked to look at unanswered queries on the site. Since you posted Dublin church records are now mainly free online here,

https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ Click on the church icon and sign in but it is free. Only two other counties have church records on line, under civil you will find protestant marriages from 1845 and all records from 1864, when they commenced.

Murray is a difficult name here as it is very common, 8th most common I think, and spread over the country. Parents names would be necessary to confirm the correct Murray lady.

    Regards
