Thank you Patricia but I don't think these dates fit although the names do. The information I have is for James Sarson in the 1871 English Census born 1842 in Ireland. Household Members Father John Sarson 55, Mother Bridget Sarson 55, Son James Sarson 29, Daughter in Law Mary Sarson 31, Sarah Ann Sarson 5, James Sarson 2 The four adults were all born in Ireland and the youngsters in Cheshire.
I had hoped I had traced them to Co Tipperary I found a Mary Searson born 1843 Cournaganeen (Bourney) Father James Searson Mother Mary Dunne but it is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Jackie jspwebb@aol.com

Hello, Not sure I understand the response. We thought you asked for info about the Searson/Leahy couple who married in 1878? Thanks.

Patricia I did because I thought these might have been the parents of James Searson but the years are way out. The only information I have is from the English Census when the whole family must have arrived in Cheshire. There does seem to have been Searsons in Co Tipperary but I cannot reconcile any dates. Thank you Jackie

JW,
It's always a good idea to look at all the census records a person appears in. I looked at UK censuses and saw that in 1911, James Sarson said he was born in Portarlington, Ireland. That town is partly in Laois, partly in Offaly.
Also, Sarson in Ireland was sometimes Seery or Freeman, so the family could have been recorded under that name.
And it is possible that they are misindexed as Larson, so you might search under that name too.
I hope this helps.
