I have John Murphy (b 1861) and Mary Deasy (b 1860) - married 1878 - already listed on this site as ancestors.
Through a process of elimination (using 1901 and 1911 census data and Cork-South Parish baptisms) I have identified Michael Murphy and Bridget Murray as parents of John (baptised 3 Feb 1861), supported by a tailor shop connection between John and an uncle Thomas.
Thomas and Michael then were brothers (parents Timothy Murphy and Mary Connell married 1 Sept 1838).
The family of John Murphy (b 1861) all migrated to New Zealand- some before, some after - his death on 31 Dec 1911.
The children of Michael Murphy and Bridget Murrray ( m 12 Jan 1860) can be identified through baptism records in Cork-South Parish - John 1861, Mary 1863, Nicholas 1865, Hanna 1869, Michael Joseph 1870, Edmund 1874 - and can be partly tracked through later records.
What I would love to know is - are there descendants in Ireland or elsewhere who recognise this family and wish to make contact with others.

Hi
It might be worth your while to contact local heritage societies and see if they are able to trace any descendents.
Cork Historical Societies | Cork Heritage
the Historic graveyards website might also be of use in finding areas with potential relatives.
Search for names on individual memorials | Historic Graves
Hope this helps
Mike
