Do you have any other information that you can share?
Do you know where in Ulster he came from? Have you any documentation that mentions a townland/parish/village/town etc?
Do you have any other forenames that you could share?
Also do you know any important dates relating to the family that would help narrow down a timeframe? Date such as birth/marriage/death etc.
Did the family emigrate? Do you have any information on their emigration? Why they left. who left, dates, where they went etc?
I ran the name Meegan through the irishtimes surname search engine. This shows what households had the name in Ireland during the mid 19th century. Most of the results returned were in Monaghan..does this mean anything to you? Here are the results:
