Ellen Keane left Ireland in 1908 along with her brother Martin and emigrated to Boston, Massachusetts. Father Coleman Keane -- Mother Bridget Flaherty (2nd wife), brothers James, Coleman, Stephen(stayed in Ireland and ran family pub and postoffice) Thomas and Michael.
Some of the family still lives in the house and run pub. Would just like some info on the family and history for my children.

Hi,
What town or townland was the family pub located? What was the name of this pub? What town or townland or parish was this family from?
Thank you,
James McNamara

Hi
Looking at Ellen Keane's birth certificate the parish reads Mojius (hard to decipher) St. Cravan Church, Kilkerrin. The pub's name as far as I know is Keane's posted on the side of the house. It was run until 2005 by a Pat Keane nephew of Ellen's.
Thanks,

Maybe the word you are looking for is really Maius which is Latin for MAY. Ususally, the priest only wrote the given names in Latin but almost always wrote the dispensations in Latin and sometimes wrote the dates in Latin.
