Hi, through British army records I have I traced my paternal ancestry back to Samuel Dixon b. circa 1784 who was from Kilmore, County Mayo. He was a weaver who joined the 47th Regiment of foot in 1813 and subsequently served in England, France, Burma and many years in India. His wife, Sarah Wallace accompanied him and they had a number of children, including a son James b. circa 1812 in Ireland. Their other children were b. in India or at sea. Samuel was Church of England and I believe he had a younger brother Henry b. circa 1787 who joined the 66th Regiment of Foot. Both ended up settling in Canada upon discharge. Samuel and Sarah arrived in Canada in 1832 where their youngest daughter was born. Can you connect me with indiciduals who may know of the history of this family or be a descendant? Lisa
