Catherine had five siblings: Pat 1842 Mary 1845 Honora 1848 Michael 1851 Catherine 1853.

I think your Catherine was actually baptized on March 12 1854. There was a Catherine Deasy baptized March 1 1853 but likely that Catherine died in infancy and the next child born a year later was also named Catherine and she is your great-grandmother.

I did not find a marriage record.

The 1852 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Aglish civil parish does not show a Denis Deasy. There was a Denis Deasy in Garryhesty townland in Desertmore civil parish. The RC parish for Desertmore civil parish is also Overns.

If Garryhesty is correct, here is the 1898 death record for Catherine Riordan Deasy see second record. I'm assuming all of the children emigrated?

I did not locate a good death record for Denis but there is a death index record for a Denis Deasy who died in 1868 at age 66. Death record images  from 1871-1970 are available on the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie    For 1864-1870, we have index records only but we expect the actual records to be available in the near future. I'm pretty confident, the 1868 record is for your great-great grandfather.

I made a huge mistake.  I have been looking for my great grandmother Catherine Dacey.  I just received her marriage certificate here in the US and I had the wrong parents.  My Kate Dacey had a father names James and a mother named Johanna Mahanney.  I'm pretty sure she was from Cork, but now I am not sure what parish.

I am not making any headway trying to find her.

I would appreciate any advice.

Last Saturday, I tried to respond to your last comment but we were having systems issues and it did not post. I kept a copy of my planned reply and just realized that I had not responded to you. Here was my response.

I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie    I found a December 29 1844 baptismal record for a Cate Deasy in the Murragh and Templemartin RC parish father was James Deasy and mother was Joha Mahony. I'm wondering if your Mahanney is actually Mahony? Let me know if this is a possibility. I did not see any siblings.

It could absolutely be the right family.  These old eyes can't see the faint writing, but I am thrilled that you found this.  

Do you know where I could go to see it better?  Should I be asking the parish secretary at this point?

I am learning about all the name and spelling changes, so It could very well be her.

Kate's husband here, was Michael Monahan, with parents Patrick and Bridget White.  Would you be able to look that up?  I have tried everyplace from this end.  Almost all the grandparents seem to be from Cork, except for my great grandfather, Timothy Whelan, with parents Richard and Alice Hackett, who were from Clashmore in Waterford.  I see his sister, Mary, but nothing about him.  I believe he left Ireland when he was 15, and he was born around 1853-58.

The lovely part is that as soon as they all arrived here, I can see their lives, especially because they all lived in the same house here, as did I.  It is amazing.

No Michael Monahan with parents Patrick and Bridget White. I located a Michael Monahan with parents Patrick and Catherine Whyte in Loughrea Co. Galway born September 4 1853.
