Hi I'm trying to trace back Seery family, i know they migrated from Cavan to county Durham. My relatives go back beyond Robert and Bridget but they're all i can find. Any help please?

Please provide more information so one of our volunteers can try to assist. Were Robert and Bridget married? If they were married, do you know Bridget's maiden name? Do you have approximate years of birth? When did they leave Ireland for England?

Subscription site - www.rootsireland.ie - has a record of a James Seery in Clonmellon, Co. Westmeath, South West of Kells, Co. Meath in 1719. This record and others can be found on catholicparishregisters@nli.ie - National Library of Ireland. Free site
A Robert "Serry" is recorded in Drumgoon, Co. Cavan in 1815. Area South of Killashandra
The name "Seery" is mainly found in County Westmeath, but there are families in area of Arvagh, Co. Cavan in the 1840's
Check out www.askaboutireland.ie/Griffith Valuations for land holders 1840/50s. Before that you can check Tithe Records - 1823 - 1837.
