Susan,
You haven’t said what denomination the Sharvin or Green families were. However no church in the parish of Saul has any records for 1808. The Church of Ireland lost its early records in the 1922 fire and the RC church has none before the 1860s. I looked in the tithe applotment records for Saul for 1833 but there are no Sharvin or Green households listed. That would indicate that, if they were still in the area, they weren’t farmers. I suspect your ancestors may have been labourers or weavers and they can be very hard to trace.
In short there are no documentary records for Saul for the period you need and there may not be nay record of either family.
Possibly DNA testing may be a way of matching with others who have additional information about where the family originate. Family Tree DNA reportedly has more people with Ulster roots than any other company. That obviously increases the chances of finding a match. You might want to try them or, if you have already tested, you can transfer your results to them for no fee.
The North of Ireland Family History Society is running an Ulster DNA project in conjunction with Family Tree DNA and can offer testing kits at a reduced price. http://www.nifhs.org (Go to DNA project on the website). You don’t need to be a member of the NIFHS to participate in the DNA project.
