Looking for information on a Michael Shea born around 1853 married a Hannah Casey 1852-1929. Emigrated to the U.S. around 1875. Also any information for Hannah Casey would be wonderful. Possible parents for Michael are Denis Shea (Dionisii Shea) and Bridget Quirk (Brigidae Quirk) . Bridget birth as possibly 1829.
Thank you

  • Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I was not able to locate a church or civil marriage record for Michael and Hannah. Where di Michael and Hannah live in America?

  • Roger McDonnell, they lived in Rhode Island. Had a daughter named Catherine Shea. From what I understand Michael was born in Kerry, Ireland. I'm mainly looking for information on his parents. Both born in Kerry, Ireland and probably married there as well.

  • I searched on the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie and did not locate a Bridget Quirke marriage record to a Denis Shea in Co. Kerry.

I did some searching on Ancestry.com but did not find any strong leads for Michael and Hannah in America.

  • Roger, what about a a John Quirke and Ann Riordan(looks like both maybe B:1805, or close) as possible parents for Bridget (Brigid) Quirke? Possible siblings as Mary Quirke (1827-1903) Margaret Quirke (1831-) Gobnait (Debra) Quirke (1834-1916) Michael Quirke(1836-) Patrick Quirke(1837-1925) Ann Quirke(1845-) ? All in Kerry

  • I did searches on www.irishgenealogy.ie (free site) and Roots Ireland (subscription) and did not find any records. Many RC parishes in Kerry do not have records back to 1829.
