Good afternoon;
Looking for a connection to Patrick Joseph Sheehan (22, June 1880 Caherlevoy, Mount Collins - 30, Sept. 1950 Syracuse, N.Y.). Father was: Michael Sheehan (1851 Kerry, Brosna- 1911 Mount Collins) Mother was: Johanna (Hanna) Fitzgerald (1854 Caherlevoy,Limerick - 2, April 1911). POB & DOD in Ireland are only educated guess'. Patrick was from family totaling 13 children. Patrick would marry Mary Agnes Finegan but not until after Patrick arrived in America on 17, May 1912 aboard the Mauretania from Queenstown to N.Y.C. He was 22 years old at the time. I believe Mary was from County Cork (4, March 1890 - 4, April 1965 at Syracuse, N.Y.) Mary's Father was: Patrick Joseph Finegan (1875 Ireland - 23, Jan. 1907, Ogdensburg, N.Y.). Her mother was: Elizabeth Mara (10, May 1875 Ireland - 23, Oct. 1946, Syracuse, N.Y.). The Finegan's had 7 children.
If anyone can shed any light on my family it would be great.
Thanks;
Dan P.

I am a Sheehan. Living in Somerset in England. My Brother is Daniel Sheehan. Our Dad was Daniel FInbar Sheehan and came over to England in the early 70's I think. He sadly passed in 1985. He had a sister called Mary Margaret. He also had a brother called Patrick and I think most of our family went to America and Australia. I am in contact with cousins in Australia and in Skibbereen but am still lacking in information. As I am new on this site, I have no clue as to how to proceed.
Hello by the way!

Do you have a copy of your Dad's death record and does it show his parents names? Is Skibbereen where your Sheehans came from?

Hello Mr McDonnell,
I'm afraid I have very limited information. Our Dad passed away in 1985 and was buried in Barnstable Cemetry in Devon. I am aware that he had a brother called Patrick who had moved to Australia. I am in touch with cousins over there but I have never met them. Our Dad was married to Janet, our mum but sadly it didn't work out. We miss him even now, more so as we get older I think! I have a cousin in Skibbereen, his surname is Rees. I am so sorry that I don't have more information for you.

Hello;
I'm new to this site myself. My Patrick Sheehan went to America in 1912. His Fatgher was Michael and he died in Ireland. It doesn't appear our Patrick's are the same. However, being new to all this my mind is open. If I can be of any help please re contact me.
Thanks

Thank you Dan.
I have sine done a great deal of research into the Sheehan clans of old and our history is fascinating and inspiring, it's just the immediate ancestry is difficult to unravel.
Nice to 'meet' you though.

Rosie;
My Sheehan Clan either stayed in Ireland, moved to Chicago, or settled in Syracuse, N.Y. If any of those Sheehans fall into yout immedate ancestry maybe I cann help. I'm hoping they might because it sounds like you may be able to helpp me with my old clan members.
Have a good day and thank you for responding.
