There is also a St. John's parish in Co. Sligo, and this is the parish that Elizabeth would have been from if she lived on Mail Coach Road. I suggest that you post this message on that St. John's  page in the hope that someone from the parish recognises the name!

In the meantime, have you tried looking for the family in the 1901 and 1911 census records? These offer lots of useful information, you can search these online here:

Also, do you know what religion the family were? It is possible that ELizabeth was born in St. John's, if she was you may be able to find her birth cert in the parish records. This would list her parents names. Most Catholic records are held locally. One website which may help you however, is the Irishtimes. Here they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For St. John's, Sligo follow this link:

You could also try looking for Christopher's millitary record to see if they give any more information. Do you know what date the photograph of Christopher was taken and where? For records on UK army personnel you can get information on the UK National Archives website. Hre is the link:

If it was taken in Ireland after the Free State was established check the Irish Millitary Archives for information. Here is their website:
