My search relates to William Sullivan (1841) and Margaret Hickey (1849) who married on 17/2//1871. They had 11 Children of which 9 lived. My line is their daughter Margaret ( 1881) who is buried in Killeagh as are my Grandmother ( Margaret (Byrne) , Grand Uncle (William) and Grandaunt ( Mary ( Motherway)

 

I have hit a brick wall as regards Margaret Hickey as her baptismal cert does not parents recorded and neither is anything helpful recorded on her marriage certificate. Are there ant alternatives ?

 

For William , I have excellent records and can go back another 2 generations when the Sullivans were in Youghal. Im interested in anyone related to William's Siblings Maurice Sullivan ( 1837) , Robert Sullivan (1843, James ( 1845) Patrick Sullivan ( 1847) and Lawrance ( 1850). Their parents were Edmond (Ed) Sullivan 1805 and Ellen Marry (1805)

    Hi, TTPaul!  Hope you are still searching!  I may have a Patrick Sullivan to match with you.  Specifically, I have a Patrick Sullivan, b. 1847, d. ? who married Katherine Brady b. 1851, d. 04 Apr 1916.  They married in 1871 and they lived with their children in Mashanaglass.  He was the Postmaster in Caum, and his wife and then daughter Janey took on those roles after he passed.  Family lore has it that his daughter Katherine (b. 24 Feb 1877 - d. 14 Mar 1957) grew up "next door to" the Riordan Family.  The Riordans emigrated to Montclair, NJ and the Sullivans (at least Katherine) went to Brookline, MA.  Katherine kept in touch with Patrick Riordan (who changed it to Reardon) and they married in Brookline, MA on 17 Feb 1900, before moving to Montclair, NJ.  These are my great grandparents, and they pretty much raised my mother and her siblings.  I am at a brick wall with the senior Patrick Sullivan.  I've got them on the 1901 and 1911 census, but I have no information on when he died or what his parents' names might be.  Would be great if this were the line I've been looking for!
