Hello from the US! I am the great great grandaughter of George Swanton and his wife who's name is either Anne Marryott or Anne Noble. Two records I have copies of have two different names for his wife. My great grandfather was Robert George Swanton who married Elizabeth McKissack from the Isle of Mann. I have had no success in breaking through to Ireland with my great grandfather. Some one suggested that perhaps the name of his father was documented incorrectly and that is why I can't find him. So I am looking for a marriage between the two and looking in Cork since the area had multiple family lines of Swantons there at the time period of 1850-1885, the years of early marriage and the years before Robert George sailed to America.

The RC parish of Rathclareen is within the Diocese of Cork and Ross. Records for the parishes of the Diocese of Cork and Ross are on the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie I located three Robert Swenaton baptismal records where the father was George all in the parish of Schull East which is considerably west of Rathclareen. I was not sure of the approximate year of birth for Robert so below are the years of the three records and the mothers names. None are close to Noble or Marryott but is Marryott actualy Mahony? I did not see a Robert Swanton/Elizabeth McKissack marriage record on www.irishgenealogy.ie
