I am trying to find any information on my 4x great grandparents. I have very little to go on other than an old genealogy written by my 3x great uncle. The problen is that I want to verify what was written and while I have proven some to be accurate, I haven't been able to substantiate it all. My biggest hurdle at this point is tracing my 4x great grandparents back to Ireland. The information that has been passed down is as follows: Thomas Bulger, a young army officer, presumably of Wellington's Army, and a native of County Leitrim married Mary Ann O'Rourke in about 1826. Before leaving Ireland in the spring of 1831 for Canada they had 2 children. Ann whose birthdate is not known and James who was born on November 25,1829.
I have not been able to locate any information on any of the above statements, either to prove or disprove some or all of them.
Any help would greatly be appreciated in helping me to break down this brick wall that I have been working at for many years.
Thank you, Lisa

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Unfortunately, I don't think church records are available to verify the marriage or baptismal records for Ann and James. I checked the subscription site Roots Ireland for Co. Leitrim and the earliest Bulger baptismal record is 1878 and they did not have any Bulger marriage records.
I also checked the 1857 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing and the only Bulger was a Mary Bulger living in Carrigallen town on Main St.
You may want to add Thomas' story to our XO Chronicles site and possibly someone will see a connection. https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-database

Hi Roger!
Thank you for checking into those records for me. They are truly my biggest brick wall right now! I keep trying though hoping one day I will luck out and find something or someone who might be able to shed some light on them!Lisa18
