This looks to be Thomas Fyffe’s father James, who died 5 months before Thomas & Mary Jane married in 1907:

James was an RIC pensioner. RIC records on Ancestry indicate he joined the police in 1859 and was pensioned in 1877 when serving in Sligo. He was receiving a pension of £28 a year.
