Hi,
I am looking for the family of Thomas Meade born around 1809. He enlisted with the East India Company around 1824 and travelled to India. HIs enlistment paper says he is from "Kilpeacon, LImerick".
However, Information received from another group is that he was born in Castlemartyr, Cork and arrived in India around 1827.
Any information on his parents / family or the exact place he comes from would be helpful.
Thanks in advance,
Karen

Hi Patricia,
Thank you for your revert. I have the following details for Thomas Meade :
Thomas Meade - Sergeant, 1st Co. 2nd Battn, Artillery, Bachelor, married Mary Ann Onion, also of this station, spinster married by banns, 27th Sept 1836 by me Wm Palmer, Nusseerabad, India.
Bombay Army European Soldiers : Thomas Meade, Gunner, 1st Co.2nd Bttn, labourer, Castle Martin, Cork, enlisted Limerick, 4th Jan 1827, unlimited service.
He and Mary Ann Onion had at least 3 children that I am aware of - Charlotte Meade, Thomas Meade and Jane Meade. All children were born in India. Thomas Meade died in 1849 in Allahabad, India.
Hope this could help in finding his family.
Best Regards,
Karen
