Hoping to be able to confirm the birthplace of my GGF & his brother & any other information about their extended family in Ireland.
My GGF, Patrick Thomson was born in 1845. He had an elder brother, John b 1843. My family has Pat's DOB as 25/2/1845, in Fermanagh (? - no evidence). An elderly relative recently suggested the parish/town of Enniskillen. He died in 1935 in NSW, Australia.
By 1851, the family had moved to Kettle, Kingdom of Fife, Scotland. The 1851 census recorded the birthplace of Pat, John , Peter (father) & Margaret (mother) as Ireland. 2 more children were born in Kettle and the last child was born in Dundee, Forfarshire.
Peter (b1813, d.1864) married Margaret Chalmers (b. c1817, d.1878) - date & location unknown. Both died in Dundee.
Peter's father was also Peter & his mother was Mary Charlatan. Margaret's parents were John Chalmers & Mary Porter. Margaret may have been born in Sligo.
The family were RC. (All the marriages & baptisms of family members in Dundee were at St Andrew's RC Catherdal.)
Many thanks for any infomation uncovered.

Stephen,
Were any of the Scottish born children born in the year 1855 or 1861 onwards? If so, in those years the date and place of the parents marriage should be recorded on the childrens birth certificates. That might be an easy way to find where they came from.
I searched for Peter & Margaret’s marriage on the Irish RC parish records on Ancestry. Most RC parish records are there. I did not find their marriage nor either John or Patrick’s baptisms. So possibly they are from a parish that does not have records for the years you need.
You mention that the family may have come from Enniskillen. That parish has baptisms from 1838 and marriages from 1817. Since the family don’t appear to be in either, it’s possible that’s not where they are from.
You can use this site to see what RC parishes there are in Co. Fermanagh and when the records start:
https://www.johngrenham.com/browse/counties/rcmaps/fermanaghrc.php#maps/ You’ll notice that several don’t start till the 1840s or 1850s or even later. There’s no easy way around that.
