Thorntons and/or Meagher/Mahers?

Hi Susanne,  I did some research on your request for information. Here is what I found on the Family Search and Ancestry web sites. John Thorton, born 19 August, 1780 in Dublin. He married Catherine Price apox 1805. Catherine Price, born 1785, Cashel, Tipperary, death  15  December,1870, Cashel, Tipperary, John's parents were Phillip Thornton and Mary Neil. Catherine's parents wee Ricardi Price and Margta Tunosy. 

They had  seven children: Patrick  B 1806 Cashel, D 1885 Chippewa Falls,Wisconsin, Thomas B 1810 Cashel, D 1876, Manhattan, New York, Catherine, B 1815, Bolerlahan, D 1904 Chippewa Falls, Richard B 1817 Bolerlahan, D 1885, Chippew Falls,  Married Ellen Meagher B 1830 Co Tipperary, D 1906, Chippewa Falls, Phillip. B 1820, Co Tipperary, D 1884 Chippewa Falls, John B 1823 Bolerlahan, D 1909 Chippewa Falls, Michael, B 1826, Bolerhan, D 1897, Chippewa Falls. 

Richard and Ellen had eight children. Joannis, 1854-1936, Patrick, 1856-1921, Dionysis, 1857-1942, Phillip 1860-?, Michael, 1862-1948, Catherine, 1863-1888, Richrd, 1866-?, Peter, 1871-1957      

Ellen's parents were John Meagher B 1800 Boherlan, Tipperary D 1868 Co Tipperary, Mary Ryan B? , D?  These dates are uncertain. I believe John must of been born later than 1800. If he died in 1868, Peter would of been from another father. Also Mary would of been born most likly in  apox 1834 and died after 1871. 

Mas family inmigration to Chippewa Falls, Wissincon. Boherlahan is a smal town 4 miles north of Cashel, Tipperary. My fathers family is from Rosegreen, Tipperary. It is about 6 miles south of Cashel.

Here is a further research updatre: Ignore all the last sentences after Mary Ryan B? D?. My mistake. Also Ellen Meagher was born in Boherlahan. Richard and Ellen were married  in 1854 in New York City and not in Tipperary. Some of their children's records are in Latin. ( for a short period of Irish records were in Latin. ) Joannas is John, Dionysis is Dennis. John, Patrick, Dennis and Phillip were born in New York City.  Michael, Catherine, Richard and Peter were born in Chippewa Falls.

Hi Susanne,

There was a John Meagher married to a Mary Ryan, living in "Garane" in Boherlahan Parish, with 3 sons Michael (b. 1813), Patrick (b. 1816), and Pierce (b. 1820).

I am descended from an Edmund Maher of the same parish, but he was from Erry.
