Hello all,

Just joined the site and the group in hopes I can track my roots.  I have seeking the where about of the my great great grandfather George Henry Reynolds for nearly a decade now.  From this point on George Henry Reynolds will be known as George (I) for obvious reason coming.  I know little about George (I) of where he came or went after 1892.

I found (in records) George (I) with wife Elizabeth Waters of Nova Scotia, son James W Reynolds b 1889, son George Henry Reynolds (II) b. 1891 and daughter Flossie  Reynolds b. 1892 in Woborn Massachusetts.   Prior to their immgration year of 1889 and after 1892, I know nothing of George (I).  Now, his sons, daughter and wife I can track just fine.

My families oral history says we Reynolds are of Irelish blood. I would like to confirm that if I can.  And the birth records of George (II) and Flossie indicate that George (I) came for the United Kingdom.

So, it looks like George (I) came to the US by way of Nova Scotia from the UK.

I have DNA on record with 23andme and would love to be able to use it somehow to find from where I came.

Thanks for reading,

Bill

  • Apart from one George Reynolds born in 1748 County Kilkenny with a father Henry ,  there is no other record to be found for a George Henry or George Reynolds in Ireland.

I see a tree on ancestry that has a document added by you and the parents are down as Henry and Sarah , George Henry I see could be born in London.
