My great, great Grandfather, Patrick McAsey, was born in Dunally, County Cork, in 1780. He and his family emigrated to America, and he died in Pennsylvania, US in 1864. I found a Baptismal Record for 07 March 1780, with parents listed as James and Mary McAsey in Athy Laois and Kildaire, County Carlowe. I also found a Marriage Record to a Catherine Mulroney in Ireland, who was born in 1805. My father and some others changed the surname to Casey sometime in the early 1900's, but some still kept the McAsey name. It has been very difficult to track the family with different spellings of the original McAsey.
