I am researching a John Bay born in Northern Ireland about 1650. His wife's name was Ruth. Ancestry.com has DNA confirmation that my famly is from Ulster.

They left Ireland in the 1690s and were on the tax rolls in Baltimore Maryland in 1699.

I am also looking for Lawrence McCann, born 1736 in Ulster. His wife was named Mary (no surname available).  They had a daughter In the US name Mary Jane who married David Bay, a descendant of the previously mentioned John Bay.

Can You Help?

Thank you,

Rebecca Jane (Janie) Bay Sard

  • Dear Rebecca,

Records as early as 1650 are very hard to find simply because they may not exist, most parishes starting to record  records properly around 1800 .

I can suggest to have a look at the website  about Ulster ancestry http://www.ulsterancestry.com/ua-free-pages.php

    Hope this helps a bit
