We are trying to identify family members those who have done research in Knocknacree, Tipperary County who have any verified research, documents, and family trees that connect to Brown(e) family members in this region, who are associated with Dagg, Guest, and Hodgins. We are trying to verify the direct paternal descendants of Thomas B. Brown below who emigrated to the United States in around 1888/1889, following what we believe was his father William Browne who died in 1885 in Tipperary.

Our last research effort provides a summary of what we know of who Thomas B. Brown is here (Download report here).

  • I also found a strong connection between the Armitage and Guest families , a number of marriages and I note Eleanor Violet Armitage as a witness in the above marriage.

  • Hi Eileen, thank you for this! What else do you have here and do you happen to have any family trees?

  • I took a look at some federal censuses showing Thomas B. Brown and his birth year varies from 1860s to early 1870s.  Irish people at the time did not celebrate birthdays, many did not know when they were born, they were not asked for ID like we are today.  Regarding Thomas's headstone, the info engraved there is only as accurate as the person who provided it and the stonemason who inscribed it.  So it's a good idea to keep an open mind about Thomas's birth year.  Good luck.
