Hi,
I am looking for any information regarding the Tweedy family from Ballyhaise. They were Church of Ireland and I have found them in the census records of 1901 and 1911.
My great grandmother Maud Tweedy (1905-1940) who had a sister, Lizzie Tweedy, and two brothers John Robert Tweedy and Frank Albert Tweedy. I believe they were all born between 1900-1910.
Their parents were Alexander Tweedy (1875-1922) and Sophia Ebbitt (1879-1959).
Can anyone help shed any more light on the family?

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I found the cvil marriage record in 1903 which shows the names of the fathers of the bride and groom. Also located the 1879 birth record for Sophia but did not find the civil birth record for Alexander.
Did not find a marriage record for Joseph Ebbett and Matilda Mullen.

Hi Roger,
Thank you for the information.
I visited the Church of Ireland in Ballyhaise and found a very old gravestone with TWEEDY on it but unfortunately no other information besides the surname.
Do you know the best way to find additional information would be or any way of determining which Tweedy(s) may be buried there?
Also where could I fill in the gaps for records that I can't find online? Would there be physical records for this area at PRONI in Belfast or the RCB in Dublin?
Best regards,
Matthew

I think your best bet is to contact the Rector of Drung which includes Castleterra and see what info they have locally including burial info. RCB in Dublin has baptismal records and death records up to 1877 plus marriage records up to 1910 but you have to visit Dublin.. Roots Ireland (subscription site) has baptismal records up to 1866 and marriage records up to 1899.
