Jeremiah Twomey and Angelina Coleman emigrated from Co. Cork to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada in 1840s. Saint John newspaper records note their town of origin as Ballincollig, Co Cork. I have found a marriage record (Roots Ireland) from Feb 1844, Inniscarra Parish (near Ballincollig) for Jeremiah Twomey and "Abagail" Coleman. I suspect this could be them. In 1842, my gggg grandparents, Daniel Barrett and Julia Sullivan, also emigrated to Saint John from Co. Cork, along with Julia's brother Timothy Sullivan and his wife Ellen McCarthy. Jeremiah was listed as a witness in baptismal records for one of Daniel/Julia's children in Saint John, so I believe they are related or close acquaintances. Timothy and Ellen had sons John and James in Ireland around 1838-1842, but have not found any records. It's possible Daniel and Julia had a daughter named Julia in 1842 in Ireland just before they emigrated to Canada. Would love to learn more about any of these families, some of all of which may be from Ballincollig area. Ideal find would be marriage record for Daniel and Julia.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I searched on the free Irish government site www.irishgenealogy.ie and located an 1841 marriage record for a Timothy Sullivan and Ellen MCarthy in Ballinhassig RC parish which is just to the south of Ballincollig. There were two baptismal records. A John in the same month as the marriage and a Tom in 1843. This could be a completely different couple since Sullivan and McCarthy are very common surnames. In any event, they are leads. Did not see a Daniel Barrett/Julia Sullivan marriage record.

Thanks for looking into that so quickly for me. I had seen those Ballinhassig records a few years ago. I agree it could be them but very hard to know given the common names. Back to the Twomeys, was it relatively common for names to be incorrect in parish records? Angelina Coleman vs Abigail Coleman seems like two very different names, but maybe there was an error?

Possibly an error. The priest wrote down what he heard.
