We are planning a visit to Wexford (should the pandemic restrictions allow). We would like to visit the farms where our family, surname Cottom, lived before emigrating to Canada and the United States. One of the farms is in Brownstown on R736. It was previously owned by Willy Foley and may be owned by one of his descendants. The other farm is in Newbawn and is owned by, I think, Tom Shannon. We don't want to arrive at either location without permission/invitation of the owners. Is there someone who can provide us with contact information? Thank you in advance!

Hello Kris,
For the farm in Brownstown, contact the postmaster in Bridgetown, as the postmaster may know who lives in the farm previously owned by Willy Foley. If the postmaster doesn’t know who owns the place now, he may know someone who does. As the Google Map shows, Bridgetown is just 3.7 miles southeast of Brownstown via the R736: https://tinyurl.com/2p8ah87a
Here is a Google Street View of the Post Office in Bridgetown: https://tinyurl.com/yc52dfmv
You can address the letter:
Postmaster
Bridgetown Post Office
The Lake
Bridgetown, Wexford
Republic of Ireland
____Concerning Tom Shannon, if he is the current owner of the property in Newbawn, why not contact him directly by mail. Your letter would get to him from the post office in Newbawn. Address your letter:
Tom Shannon
Newbawn
County Wexford
Republic of Ireland
____Best of Luck Kris,
