I am looking for Birth, Marriage & Death records of Michael & Anne (Murphy) Gaddis who I think were married in Ballinasloe Gallway in the Catholic church.on Feb 8 1835. I am also interested in the Birth, Marriage & Death records that may be available for their children and how many children they had with names and dates.

  • Good Evening...

Just had a look at some records for that surname in the Ballinasloe area for the 1850 period(Griffiths Valuation). Under the Poolboy area, there is a William Gaddis listed, could be a relative of your Michael and Anne Gaddis.

    See link  http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/IRL-GALWAY/2003-01/1042330152

Gaddis is an unusual surname for East Galway area.So it should be easy to locate records.

  • Please check the following site for more detailed information.

    http://www.rootsireland.ie/index.php

It is free to register but you have to pay to see the actual record.

First check the County Genealogy Centre on the left and then select East Galway.

There are quite a few Gaddis' listed for East Galway and because it is an unusual name for the area all are probably related.

You can also choose the Parish of Ballinasloe if you just want to check those ones.

    Good luck

  • http://historicgraves.com/kilbegly/ro-klbg-0034/grave.  This is the headstone of the people you are looking for at Kilbegley Ballinasloe in the Parish of Moore which is in Co Roscommon.

Rootsireland site now do a 24 hour search which is not expensive if you do not wish to sign up for a longer period.
