Is this St Paul's Arran Quay Parish in Dublin.  What religious denomination would this church be under, is it Catholic or Church of Ireland?  If Church of Ireland would that be considered a Protestant religion?  I have a marriage record for a Patrick Murray and Mary O'Neill from this church but I thought that these individuals followed the Protestant religion.  Now I am told that the St Paul's Parish has Catholic records so I am confused.

  • Hi there,

St. Paul's appears to be Roman Catholic. This link mentions it here: http://www.cigo.ie/campaigns_church.html it mentions that it is a Roman Catholic parish.

Where did you hear that they followed Church of Ireland? Perhaps it was only one member of your family? Have you any documentation stating this? If you do, perhaps we can trace them too.

Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.

    Kind regards,
