I'm looking for descendants of my great-grandparents, William Joseph Sullivan and Elizabeth Josephine Powers. William was born in Middleton on 5/1/1880 and Elizabeth was born in Youghal on 10/20/1887. She emigrated to the US circa 1900 and he emigrated to the US circa 1909. My grandfather, Thomas John Sullivan was born in San Francisco on 11/20/1911.

I'm planning a trip to Ireland in June and would love to connect with long lost cousins.

I hope I will be able to help you in your search for cousins in Youghal.  Some questions...is Elizabeth's surname definitely Powers with an s as I have never heard that version of the name used locally.     Are you certain re the dates of birth you have for Elizabeth and William ?

    I found a probable Naturalization record (see attached) for Elizabeth Josephine Sullivan resident of San Francisco CA. husbands name William Joseph Sullivan. Elizabeth's date of birth is shown as 16th October 1884 in Youghal Co. Cork, a date of birth is also noted for William - 1st May 1874. Three children are also mentioned including a Thomas John born 20th October 1911 in San Francisco.

    A search of birth records shows a match of an Elizabeth Power born 20th October 1884 at the Mall in Youghal, parents Patrick Power and Mary Foley. Patrick Power is shown as a Sailor. There's a good match for this family on the 1901 census at Buckley's Lane Youghal - without Elizabeth..

    I would like to help you find your cousins here in Youghal but I would need some more information about your Elizabeth Josephine's family. From the 1911 census it looks like none of her family except parents are at home so maybe they all followed Elizabeth to USA. Do yo have any info about her mother or father apart from that on her birth record. And I cannot find any  record of a William Sullivan with the dates given.
