My great grandfather, William O'Brien was born in County Tipperary on June 22, 1867. All I know about him is that he was from either Cappawhite or Silvermines Parish. He was married to Mary (Flood) O'Brien from County Longford Abbeyshrule Parish. He came to the United States, but I'm not sure in what year and I'm not sure if William and Mary were married in Ireland or the United States. They had 9 children, all of whom were born in the state of New York, City of Mount Vernon, USA. I am not able to find any information on William's parents or siblings. Any information would be helpful.

Hi Margot,
From what I know Mary Flood was born 2nd August 1868 to Peter Flood and Anne Keegan Flood. She was from County Longford, Abbeyshrule Parish. She died on 30th August 1928 in Mount Vernon, New York. William O'Brien was born 22nd June 1867. He may have been born with the last name of Brien and his name might have been changed to O'Brien when he arrived in the United States. I believe they both arrived between 1887 and 1890.

Some dropped the "O" and some search sites also drop the "O".
This is what I found........up to now.
Most of these records are n the familysearch.org site the old LDS site.
What I do is look there first then go to another site to get the details.
