Hi Donal,
Getting information back circa 1808 is extremely difficult. I know someone however who has been searching for a William Wright's family from Bailieborough, he was a doctor. I will take your post to her attention The Post Office in Shercock in 1911 was run by James Wright (locally the name was pronounced Rrit). I have located James Parker & Emily's marriage in 1912.
Using Rootsireland.ie I found a death for William Wright Date of Death:17-Sep-1888
Age:81Parish / District: SHERCOCK Address: Corravilla County:Co. Cavan
Denomination:Church Of Ireland
Sex: Male
Graveyard: SHERCOCK C.I.
Parish: SHERCOCK, Co. CavanThe next time I get a chance I will see can I find the grave, I have some photos of the headstones there but not of any for William.
In the Tithe Applotments there is a James Wright, John & a Widow Wright living in Shercock in 1825, they could be part of his family
I have also come across a William Wright father of James Wright who was in the RIC, unsure if he is part of your family.
Sorry, I am unable help you any further.
Regards Carmel
