Whats does it say to you that a couple

Had no witnesses.

I can just make out a couple of ink marks.
Could it have been erased. Or was it too faint to be mikrofilmed.
There first child Mary was born the year after.

  • The priest has written in W.W. for witnesses, but looks like he forgot to record the details - or forgot to note their names - all the other marriages on the page have witnesses

    In addition to the lack of witness names, I notice there were 10 weddings recorded on that day. There were several wedings on days around it also. Maybe someone else can comment on multiple weddings on one day. Was it a group wedding ceremony, or was it just that the record was made on that day and the wedding happened previously? Regardless, it seems that the priest forgot  or didn't record the names.
