Researching my Irish 'roots' in Aghallee, but hitting brick walls.
Need in depth information on the following persons:
John Gilmour(Gilmore or Gilmer) married to Ann Hendron on 26th Sept 1816.
Research gives John's birth as 1794 in Aghallee and Ann's as 1797 but would like these dates confirmed along with any information on possible family connections (both up and down the 'tree')
Children recorded as William (b:1823), James John (b:1818) and Jennifer (b:1820)
William married Jane George (b:7th Dec 1823) - family tree OK at this point onwards to present day, but Janes' family (upwards) is uncertain. Any help appreciated.

Gordon,
To confirm the baptisms you need to know what exact denomination the family were. Do you know that? If Church of Ireland, then the records for this parish start in 1811 which looks promising. They are on-line on the rootsireland site. UHF may also have them. I searched for a James Gilmer b 1818 son of John and they have a match on that on the UHF site. (You?ll need to pay to view the record).
A copy of the original records for this parish are also held in PRONI, Belfast. (Free to view).
I?d be slightly careful about the name Jennifer. That?s not a name that was in common usage in Ireland in the 1820s. Nor indeed in the 1901 census (none in the whole of Ireland). It?s probably more likely to be Jenny which is a diminutive of Jane or Janet.

Elwyn,
Many thanks for the pointers.
Obviously I am proceeding with caution and will double check every lead.
I'll keep updating records until I'm certain I have the correct 'tree'

Elwyn,
John Gilmour(Gilmore), 1794-1866, married Ann Hendron, born abt. 1797-1828, on 26th Sept 1816 in the Church of Ireland in Aghalee.
John was recorded as being a farm labourer.
Still in the process of researching the other sites you outlined, but having difficulties finding any details to advance my research. I am particularly keen to follow their son, William, born 1828, died 23rd July1899.and his siblings.
Anyone out there help?

You mentioned the George family. In case you haven?t picked it up, there is mention of two Georges in the 1851 census for Aghalee townland. Alice born c 1810 and her sister Margaret born c1803 who died in 1848. (The 1851 census asked for details of people who had died within the previous 10 years). The census for the parish of Aghalee is one of the fragments of the pre 1901 censuses which has survived. It?s on the same site as the 1901 & 1911.
No mention of the other families so it looks as though they had moved out of that parish by 1851 or had died out.
