My family is traveling to County Antrim in March 2013 to visit the birthplace of my great grandmother, Mary Ann Reid.  Her parents were John Reid and Margaret Rea.  She was bornin Crasheybrackin Rasharkin on June 12, 1883.  She left Ireland in 1900 to move to Minnesota.  We cannot find Crasheybrackin Rasharkin on any maps, and we are wondering if it was a nickname for some other village.  Please let us know if you have any information. Her siblings were William, Margaret, and Charles.

    Hi Yvonne

Thank you for your message. The name of the townland is Crushybrackin Co.Antrim. This may have been the problem. A site that may be helpful is http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/
