I searched for births for Elizabeth Gilchrist 1893 in Antrim. There were none for that year. The nearest was Lizzie Gilchrist born 29.9.1892. Her birth was registered in Ballymena Oct ? Dec 1892 Vol 1, page 73. The mother?s maiden name was Mullan. So that might be the event you are looking for. You would need to pay to view the certificate, or order a copy of it, to check the father?s name and get the family address etc.

I think Ballymena is the area your family came from because I found this marriage:

Hugh Gilchrist to Jane McKeown McNiece, regd Ballymena 1849 Volume 2, page 65. Hugh?s father?s name was William.

I searched for a marriage in Co Antrim or Down 1876 ? 1881 where the groom was William Gilchrist. There were none, save for 2 in 1880 where the fathers were Alexander & Joseph. Could William?s 1^st marriage have been in Scotland? (I searched Scotlandspeople for the years 1876 to 1881 and found 26 matches, 3 of which were in Renfrewshire. You might want investigate some of those marriages to see if any had a father Hugh.) If there were no children then they probably weren?t married very long.
