I tried a search on www.rootsireland.ie for this family name without any success. I wonder if you tried irish genealogy for Dublin would you have more luck. As the name is not very common any records you find may be part of the wider family:

Thanks for your time and trouble - I have found more info on the site you suggest and also from other sites and have amassed quite a stack of information.  There is plenty of the early lines of the family and I have the (19 and (20 - it's the stuff in between that is hard to find!  I will keep on searching.
