William Shores and Mary Dorothy Donelly came to Canada circa 1800 from Belfast Ireland. Would love to find more info on them from Ireland. William was born abt. 1777 and the only info is Belfast.

Thank you

  • Hi there,

Do you what year they arrived? Do you have any records of their life in Canada? Do you know when they died?

Hopefully, someone in the area of Belfast is also doing some research on the same family and can help you further.

Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.

    Kind regards,

  • The above married couple came to Canada about 1820 All their children were born in Sherbrooke Quebec Canada and the first one was born in 1826.

Family history- word of mouth- has it that William Shores raised and raced horses in Ireland, France and England. In Canada he bred and raised horses for the Calvary in Canada. The Shores were one of the first settlers in the Sherbrooke area. He was born 1777 in ireland and died in March 31 1885

Mary Dorothy Donnelly was born in Belfast as far as we know. Family history-word of mouth- says that her father was a heavyweight boxing champion. She was born about 1785 and died June 13 1870

There were 6 children and have records on their families.
