Hi everyone,

I am looking for more information on the arms on the DALE headstone in the St. Patrick's Church of Ireland in Carncastle.  (also noted as the graveyard in Ballygalley) in County Antrim.  The headstone reads:

"Here lyeth the body of William Dale who died 4th March 1798 aged 20 years, son to William Dale and Martha Caldwell of Ballyrither, White Sickness sore upon his vitals, pray'd his strength exhausted and his frame decayed yet still the Lord depos'd his peaceful mind to bear with patience and to be resigned, also his brother John died March 31st 1816 aged 34 years, and likewise Jane Alexander wife of said John Dale who died 6th February 1860 aged 87 years"

I have information that there is are arms on the headstone.  I would like to be able to get a picture (or a proper blazon) of the arms, if possible.  The information I have found online indicates that the arms are three griffons with a chevron including five griffons; however in the amorials I have only been able to locate Dales with swans, not griffons.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kathie
