Am wondering if anyone can help me please ...I am looking for information on my ancestor - James Alexander Shaw's parents. I think he was born on 16 Nov 1828, his parents - John Shaw and Martha Brennan/Brannan. He was in Australia by 1855. He was a sailor, working on ships most of his life. Appreciate any help given. I see that you have put this post on the Carnmoney board. Do you have information that the Shaws and Brennans came from this particular parish? If so, do you know what denomination they were? There are some church records that cover the period you are interested in, and if you can tell me their denomination I may be able to advise you on what’s available and where to find it.
