I am lookingfo  ant information on my g-grandfather Terrance Mclaughlin, born may 1 1815, when he married Mary Laughlin on Jan 29 1846, at Holy Name of Mary, Marysville, Hastings Cty, Ontario, Canada, he said he was from the Parish of Kilwater (Kilwaughter) Co. Antrim, Ireland.  He stated that his father was John McLaughlin and his mother Margaret Mc Carm (not sure of spelling hard to read).

Terrance arrived in Canada in about 1843, with his brother Patrick, they both setteled in Richmond township, Lennox & Addington, Ontario, this is close to Napanee Ontario and between Toronto and Montreal.

There is a story that 4 brothers came, but 2 stayed in Montreal or went on to the United States, I can't prove this part about the other brothers.

Terrance and Patrick are buried in the Catholic Cemetery in Napanee Ontario.

Terrance was born long before the start of statutory birth registration so you won?t find a birth certificate for him. Kilwaughter RC baptisms only start in 1821 so you are unlikely to find his baptism either. It might still be worth going through them in case you find any siblings born after 1821. A copy is held in PRONI, Belfast. (Ref MIC1D/68 & 90).

A portion of the 1851 census for Kilwaughter has survived. However I have looked through it but there?s no McLaughlin family listed. See:

I searched the 1901 census for the general area around Kilwaughter but could not find any McLaughlin families either, so I suspect they had all moved away or died out by 1901.
