Seeking info about my great great grandparents Henry (Henery) Ramsey (1865-?) and Annie Thompson (1870-?), as well as George Mills (1877-1966) and Mary Jane O'Dornan (1872-?) and their children. I have decent knowledge about my great grandfather Robert Thompson Ramsey, and great grandmother Catherine Mills who immigrated to Canada in the 1920's, as did Catherine Mills brother, John Huey Mills. I have built a family tree connecting many Ramsey's but cannot find any information about the siblings of my great grandparents. I am interested in available info about spouses, children, residence, death, burial, etc. of the people listed below. Thank you.

Children of Henry Ramsey & Annie Thompson:

1) Robert Thompson Ramsey (1892-1970), my great grandfather and my great grandmother Catherine Mills (1904-1951)

2) James Ramsey 1893–?

3) Elizabeth Ramsey 1895–?

4) John Ramsey 1897–?

5) Isabella Ramsey 1899–?

6) Alice Ramsey 1901–?

7) Henery Ramsey 1903–?

8) Catherine Ramsey 1905–?

9) Samuel Ramsey 1907–?

10) Alexander Ramsey 1908–?

11) Jeannie Ramsey 1909–?

12) Annie Ramsey 1911–?

13) William Ramsey 1912–?

Children of George Mills & Mary Jane O'Dornan:

1) Lizzie Mills 1899–?

2) John Huey Mills 1900–1974

3) Catherine Mills 1904–1951

4) George Mills 1906–?

5) David Mills 1908–?

6) Sarah Mills 1911–?

7) Patrick Mills 1915–?

  • Possible death for Henry Ramsey, registered in Ballymena 10.9.1930 aged 66.

Possible marriages for Hen(e)ry’s children. I cannot say whether they are his children (you will need to look at the certificates to decide) but they feature names in his family and were in the Ballymena registration areas, and around the time you might expect them to marry:

    Elizabeth Ramsey to Kernohan 23.11.1921

    Henry Ramsey to Reilly 15.3.1922

    Samuel Ramsey to Douglas 7.5.1923

    Catherine Ramsey to Davison 24.9.1930

You can view the original certificates on-line on the GRONI website, using the “search registrations” option:

    https://geni.nidirect.gov.uk

You will need to open an account and buy some credits. It costs £2.50 (sterling) to a view a certificate.

Tradition was to marry in the bride’s church so if either of the 2 females are your family, that should tell you where the family attended church, and perhaps where they are buried.  Buckna Presbyterian or 1st Broughshane both have graveyards.  There are some Ramseys in Buckna but I don’t know if they are your family. Many Presbyterians were buried in the Church of Ireland graveyard so that’s another possibility.

The graveyards in that general area have all had their gravestones transcribed and are on the Braid site (save for Ballymena Old graveyard).
