I found some mckinlay's that belonged to the Grandlodge of Free Masons of Ireland. Is there anyway to find  birth records of possible children born to these men?  I am still looking for Mary Mckinlays parents.  She was born about 1827.

  • You don’t say what denomination Mary McKinlay was but the only church in the Ramoan area with any baptism records for around 1827 is Ballycastle Presbyterian. Theirs start in 1829. So, if Presbyterian, she might just be in that if her year of birth is uncertain. There are dozens of McKinlay/McKinla households in the 1803 agricultural census for that area, and 4 in Ramoan. Do you know what Mary’s townland was?

  • That's the problem, we don't know her townland.  I have just been trying to rule out or find a baptism record of a Mary that was born about the time of 1827 or so.  We believe she was a protestant. It is possible that she took her mother's maiden name when she got married.

  • Does her marriage or death certificate not give her parents names?
