Hi,
Thank you for your message.
Have you tried looking for information on the family in Church records?
Most Catholic records are held locally. You could try writing to the parish priest for possible assistance. One website which can be useful is the irishtimes, where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For Rasharkin parish follow this link:
For Church of Ireland records check http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42 and http://www.nationalarchives.ie/.
You could also check the two land records peraining to Ireland in the 19th century for some record of Henry or his parents. There are two:
The Tithe Applotment Books dating from 1823-1838. This can be found here: http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp
and Griffith's Valuation (1848-1864) found at http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
Some other websites which may be helpful are:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/
The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx
The National Archives UK ? genealogy search: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/looking-for-person/
The Public Records Office of Northern Ireland http://www.proni.gov.uk/index/family_history.htm
Family Search: https://familysearch.org/
Genealogy Links: http://www.genealogylinks.net/uk/ireland/antrim/index.html
You could aslo try contacting the Ulster Historical FOundation for assistance, however a fee may appaly. Here are their contact details:
Ulster Historical Foundation,

Belfast BT9 6RY,
Northern Ireland.
Phone: +44 28 9066 1968 EMail: enquiry@uhf.org.uk
I hope that this is helpful. Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.

Also researching the Dysart Family: James Dysart was born in 1727 in Londonderry, Ulster. His father was Joseph Dysart, born in 1700, mother was Marie Martin, born in 1730. James married Margaret Young Stewart who was born in 1725 in Ulster. All information is appreciated.

Hello All,
My name is David Dysart and I live in the US. I have done extensive research on the family line. I have visited Dysart, Scotland and Rasharkin and there met Dysarts living on Mullan Road. Even though my people left No. Ireland in 1805, the family resemblance of the Dysarts I met there was uncanny. Ernest Dysart did speak of the Crashybracken branch of the family that moved to Australia/NZ (Crashybracken is a part of Rasharkin). There are monuments in a cemetery there that Dysarts of Australia/NZ? (I'll have to check) had erected in there absence. I have photographs. My ancestors were William Dysart and Jane Boyd Dysart, both born about 1770. I have no absolute proof that they are of Rasharkin because the ship manifest only list Antrim as their place of Residence. They sailed with whom I suppose was a younger brother of Jane, John Boyd.
Just this summer I spent time in Brechin in County Angus in Scotland. From my research it seems that they were probably tenant farmers (crofters) in this area for probably centuries before leaving for Ulster. The first recorded name of Dysart in Scotland is a Walter and Gaffrid de Dysart dates 1427. The "de" of course means "of" so like many surnames, we Dysarts took the name of the village from whence we came. They were in the service of the Maules of Panmure who probaly sent tenants to Ulster to farm land he had been granted there.
I'm sorry I can't respond with any specifics to the entries above. I can be reach at ddysart@stetson.edu.
Kind Regards,
David Dysart
