Below are the pertinent parts of an entry in "Ireland Landed Estate Court Files, 1850-1885" The volume date range is Jul-Oct 1859 with James Malue acting as a rep. of John Malue:

Renewal lease dated 21st of November, 1847, made by owner to John Malue of part of the lands of Lagan,.........for a term of 19 years from 1st of November 1836 with covenant for renewal toties quoties. The yearly rent ...., renewal fine....and increase rent under "Trinity college Act"1851....being the amount stated in rent column and payable since May 1855. Renewal lease will be handed to a purchaser.

My questions are: Is John Malue the original lessee in 1836? Was the rent readjusted in 1947 due to the famine? The orignal lease was up in 1855, but was not recorded until 1859. Was this usual?

Thank you for any help.
