Hello,

I'm visiting Armagh next month and I'd love the opportunity to connect with someone who has local/historical knowledge of Ballymoyer and its surrounding areas.  While my main interest is in the Synnot family, I'd love to hear about how things once were in this area.

Ideally, it would be amazing to find someone willing to meet or speak with me, visit locations, or show me around. However I don't want to seem over expecting, so if contact was via email only, I'd be grateful for just that.

As I live on other side of the world, these few days in Armagh present a once in a blue moon opportunity.

Any advice or suggestions is welcome.  Thank you.

  • Dear Diem

Thanks for getting in touch with us. Unfortunately we don't yet have a volunteer in Ballymoyler. You may be interested though in contacting Armagh Library which is one of the oldest in Ireland. They may be best placed to give you the details of any local history society that might be able to help you out at this point.

    The contact info is below:

43 Abbey Street, Armagh, County Armagh,

    Ms Carol Conlin
    T: (028) 3752 3142
    E: admin@armaghpubliclibrary.co.uk

They also have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ArmaghPublicLibraryNo5
