I have just answered your earlier post. There are 3 marriage records for Bates, David on www.rootsireland.ie but they are all post-1883 - 2 of these are in Co. Antrim and 1 in Co. Down. Even though they are not connected in terms of your search period, perhaps they are a later generation; it is difficult to say for sure. 

There are no marriages for a Jean Lindsay on that site prior to 1870. I can't find any Whytecross listed in the Tithe Applotment Books nor any entry for a Lindsay for Co. Armagh, though there are some for other counties:

Have you tried searching Ancestry.com for any mention of your ancestor?s name in member family trees or messages?
