Seeking any connections with Andrew's first family. On his Death Certificate (10378/1889 NSW Aust) there is mention of a wife, one male and two female children living prior to Andrew's conviction on 20 Mar 1826 at Carlow and transportation "Phoenix III" arriving in Sydney Cove on Christmas Day 1826. That Andrew's father was a grocer is about as far confirmed research has reached in County Carlow. A County Carlow data base of MAHONs has been developed from 1820 to 1846 this has found various MAHON families but no obvious connections.to Andrew or his sibling/s? Brother Thomas parted with the military on bad terms and also landed in the Colony of NSW on the 11 Apr 1838 aboard the convict transport "William Jardine". He worked for his brother before becomming a free man at Kurrajong, NSW.

Hi ! I know this is now 3 yrs after your original post but would love to get some more information on your Andrew Mahon as my mother's family are from Augha /Bagenalstown and are Mahons. I know that there are a couple of different Mahon families in the area but several inked to the 'Augha'Mahons. Indeed my own name is the feminine irish version of Andrew as all the males on my mam's side are Andrew!

Hello Raymond
My Great-grandmother is from the Bells Line of Road Kurrajong. Her name is Maria MAHON. She is of Irish and Aboriginal descent. I am currently living in Canada, but when I go home I will look for some more information. My email is yengari@icloud.com or yengari@outlook.com

Hi Raymond, my ancestors are the Mahons of Cooldaragh Gleve, south of Tullamore. We are an exact dna match to the Carlow Mahons living today in Chicago, but with roots back to Mick Mahon, married 1795 in Cranagh. I suspect they are related to Andrew and Thomas as the name Thomas is used by the family. I am attempting to learn more about the Carlow Mahon clan. See attached pdf.
